Carpet Pile
LEVEL LOOP PILE
This
carpet style features loops of the same height that are left
uncut. This promotes very good wearing qualities and minimises
tracking and crushing.
It can be easier to clean and maintain, as soil tends to stay on the surface.
MULTI LEVEL LOOP PILE
The
different loop heights of this carpet create a patterned surface,
Carpets of this construction deliver a more textured appearance
than other loop products. This texture can be random or in
other cases crossover patterns which can be very appealing.
CUT PILE
Cut
Pile carpets have the top of each loop cut off so that each
loop becomes two strands which stand upright. Both delicate
velvet plush's and nubbly frieze styles are made by this method.
Cut pile carpets can have a stunning appearance however some
tend to produce shaded effects and show foot prints easily.
These are characteristics you need to consider prior to your
carpet purchase.
CUT AND LOOP PILE
Cut
and loop textures are a combination of cut pile and loop pile
yarns. The longer loops are cut and the shorter loops left
uncut creating a sculptured effect. Cut and loop carpets stand
up well to traffic. The sculptured effect helps disguise soiling
and crushing.
TIP SHEARED PILE
These
effects are extremely attractive and are achieved by producing
a multi-level loop construction and "shaving" the
high loops leaving the low loops unaffected. This creates a
more luxurious appearance than straight loop pile constructions.
TWIST / FRIEZE PILE
This
high pile construction utilises high twist yarns that delivers
excellent texture and durability. They also minimise the effect
of footprints and shading. Twist levels in the yarn can vary
delivering various texture finishes. The higher the twist the
more durable the product.
AXMINSTER / WILTON
The Axminster/Wilton woven carpets available today have their origins in the
hand looms of the 18th century. The selection of patterns and colours are
virtually unlimited. These carpets are renowned for their timeless appeal
and their ability to blend with many décor styles.
