BRETTS - Totally Floored
A timber floor can be designed or finished to achieve striking
or subtle effects, depending on the result required. Its durability
makes it well suited to heavy traffic areas such as hallways, entrance
areas and family rooms.
Picasso Engineered Timber Flooring
From restaurants and retail stores to hotels and offices, Picasso engineered
flooring is the ideal choice where timber flooring is required at an
affordable price. Picasso flooring is an engineered floating timber
floor system available as a single strip floor. Once installed, Picasso
looks and feels like a solid timber floor, but without any of the downsides
associated with solid timber installations. Being an engineered product,
shrinkage and expansion are virtually eliminated meaning no need for
on site acclimitisation. Also, as Picasso is pre-finished, in most cases
an average sized room can be completed within one day with no smelly
chemicals and no need to move out for three days as would be the case
with a traditional polished floor.
Why Picasso Flooring?
We predominatnly use Australian native hardwoods so you will have peace
of mind that your floor has been grown for our conditions. As opposed
to some other engineered floors, Picasso has a full 3.6mm solid timber
wear layer, which is laid up on 11mm structural plywood. Unlike most
laminates, the extra thick wear layer means you can sand and re-coat
for many years to come without fear of penetrating the substrate.
As timber is a natural product, you should always expect some movement
in your floor as the natural environment changes. To minimise the effect
of this movement, we have developed a very precise shadow line micro
bevel, which not only adds to the beauty of the floor, but also helps
to conceal this natural movement.
